Cryptocurrency Is Often Used in Modern Fraud
Many scams are not really about cryptocurrency itself. They are about deception, pressure, secrecy, and manipulation. Cryptocurrency is frequently used because criminals can move money quickly, internationally, and in ways that are difficult to reverse.
Common crypto-related scams:
- Romance scams that turn into investment scams
- Fake trading platforms and "guaranteed returns"
- Tech support scams demanding Bitcoin
- Government impersonation scams using crypto ATMs
- Recovery scams promising to retrieve lost funds
